Ball Mill Overview

ball mill Ball mill is a key equipment to grind the crushed materials, and ball mill is widely used in powder-making production line including cement, silicate, new-type building material, refractory material, fertilizer, ore dressing of ferrous metal and non-ferrous metal, glass ceramics, etc. Ball mill can grind various ores and other materials with dry type and wet type, so the ball mill can be divided into tabular type and flowing type according to different forms of discharging material.

Ball Mill Application

Ball mill is mainly used for grinding materials in such production industries as cement, silicate product, new building materials, corhart, chemical engineering, nonferrous and black metal, mineral processing, glass and ceramic, etc. Ball mill is used for grinding various ore and other grindable materials dry or wet.
Ball mills are generally used to grind material 1\4 inch and finer, down to the particle size of 20 to 75 microns. To achieve a reasonable efficiency with ball mills, they must be operated in a closed system, with oversize continuously being recalculated back to the mill to be reduced.
Ball mill is widely used for milling various kinds of ores or rocks in metal and non-metal mining and building material industry.
The main bearing of the ball mill with the shell diameter 900-2100mm is spherical liner bearing; for the shell diameter 2700mm, the main bearing is completely closed self-aligning 120° bearing with strong alloy of high lead and low tin with low hardness, underneath laid with cooling copper piping full of water The bearing is of static pressure structure with high and low pressure united oil lubricating system. A ball mill operates by rotating a cylinder with steel grinding balls, for the ball to fall back into the cylinder and onto the material to the ground. The rotation is usually between 4 to 20 revolutions per minute, depending upon the diameter of the mill. The larger the diameter is, the slower the rotation will be. If the peripheral of the mill is too great, it begins to act like a centrifuge and the balls do not fall back, but stay on the perimeter of the mill.

Ball Mill Main Features and Benefits

1. The ball mill is made up of feeding part, discharging part, gyre part, transmission part (reducer, small transmission gear, motor, and electrical controller) and so on.
2. The hollow axis of the ball mill adopts the cast steel, and the lining can be replaced. The big rotary gear is forged from cast rolling gears.
3. The barrel body of our ball mill is inlaid with wearable plates.
4. Our ball mill runs steadily and efficiently.

Ball Mill Working Principle

This ball mill is horizontal type and tubular running device, has two warehouses. This ball mill is grid type and runs along the outside gear. The material enters spirally and evenly the first warehouse of the milling machine along the input material hollow axis by input material device. In this warehouse, there is a ladder scaleboard or ripple scaleboard, and different specification steel balls are installed on the scaleboard. When the barrel body rotates ball mill produces centrifugal force, at the same time, the steel ball is carried to some height and falls to make the material grinding and striking. After grinded coarsely in the first warehouse, the material then enters into the second warehouse for regrinding with the steel ball and scaleboard. In the end, the powder is discharged by output material board and the end products are completed.
